The staff of Allen Memorial Library are available to help with your research success however we can. We are available for assistance online through chat, phone, or by email. We would also be happy to set up an online appointment with you in Microsoft Teams for a more in-depth research consultation.
Our online chat service is available for you any time the library is open. Our staff are here to help with any questions you may have or to connect you with a librarian for more complicated questions.
Visit the library homepage and click Library Chat! to chat with AML staff!
Need library help? Appointments are available with Hannah, the Research and Instruction librarian, to ensure dedicated one-on-one assistance.

eBooks
We own over 100,000 eBooks available through Ebook Central and the EBSCO eBook Collection. eBooks are actual published books in electronic format, so they should meet your instructor's requirement for book sources. Please be aware that some eBooks can only be viewed by one person at a time, just like print books. If you get an error message for an eBook that you want to read, please let us know!
Need to access a physical item that the VCSU Library has and cannot pick it up in person? We can mail it to you! We are happy to mail any physical item in the library to you (even if you are outside of North Dakota!).
Interlibrary Loans
Need an article or book that the VCSU Library does not have? No problem! Just place an interlibrary loan request! Through this free service, you can request items that will be emailed to you (if the item is digital) or mailed to you (if the item is physical).
How long does interlibrary loan take? It depends! Digital items usually take 2-4 days, and physical items take 1-3 weeks.
VCSU students, faculty, and staff all have access to our databases, even when they are not on campus. There is an extra step to get to these databases: logging into our EZproxy system.
When you choose a specific database or resource you want to access off campus, the EZproxy login will pop up when you click on the link for that resource.
There will be the option to log in as an NDUS student, faculty, or staff member, as well as a guest option. Choose the NDUS option, then log in using just the firstname.lastname portion of your NDUS information and your NDUS password. Once you're logged in, you should be redirected to your resource of choice!
